Editor’s Note

What follows is the trip report of our motorcycle adventure to Banff.  Most of this was written on my nifty new phone at the end of each day, thus the reason I’ve posted it in a day-by-day format; however, intarweb connections in the west can be very sparse on a GSM network.  Canada, of course, had readily available GSM intarweb, even at our campsite.  It also had, of course, roaming fees to the tune of $10-$15 per MB of transfer.  Much as I love you peeps, that kind of money was only worth checking daily weather reports.  Once we got back into the US, we again hit the land of no GSM.  On our rapid motoring home (Glacier to home in 3 days!) I was too tired at the end of each day to write a report, though I did take notes.  So those are ‘fleshed out’ from memory–deal.  And enjoy.

    his is the wind graph from Foothills Lab on the Mesa. Top wind gust: 57.7 mph @ 04:15 They are not shielded by much, but they are closer to S. Boulder Mtn.

    That and it knocked out power around 2300… so that was fun too.

    So, “I went snowboarding” today… what a joke. I check the Eldora web site to get the grooming report this am. Everything was ok, until I got there. Now their site says: Upper Mountain Lifts currently on Wind Hold, Challenge, Indian Peaks and Corona. Little Hawk Mt. is in operation. Please call for updates.

    I can’t win. I guess I could have been killed if I went to my other choice Winter Park!

    yeah, now I can watch the Dallas Cowboys lose to Seattle tonite. yay.

    EDIT: as expected, we fucked it up! thx dallas!
